Our History
Our 5-star hygiene rated shop was purpose-built as a Butchers more than 100 years ago, it is the only shop in Blackheath Village that has continuously operated in its original role. We are very proud to uphold this unique heritage of butchery within the village.
The shop is owned and run by Nick Ellis, who began honing his craft in butchery over 20 years ago. Nick’s dedication to sourcing only the finest quality meats from across the UK & Ireland is a core value of Ellis Butchers, earning the loyalty of our many regular customers.
Our Staff
Our shop employs a dedicated team of 10 staff members, all trained (or in training) to Level 3 NVQ in butchery. Customer care and professionalism are at the heart of everything we do. We are deeply committed to the welfare of the animals whose meat we sell, sourcing only from quality farms that meet our high expectations.
